Radio
In a Nutshell: Ofcom (the U.K. radio regulator) is investigating whether or not London-based radio station LBC broke the broadcasting code when David Lammy covered breaking news that Irish politician Sir Jeffery Donaldson was being investigated for historical sexual offences. Lammy is a Labour MP and — whilst he is allowed to host a political radio show (which he has done since 2022) — sitting MPs are not allowed to host a News program. By breaking this news on his political talk show, Lammy (and LBC) might have broken the broadcasting code.
How to use this source: This is a good example of the radio regulator stepping in to ensure broadcast regulations are followed.
